Star Wars 1, 2 & 3. 2017. Ink, paper

The series of drawings were inspired from a prototype created for a modular sculpture I have been experimenting with. The modular shapes were arranged in different patterns for aesthetic contemplation and also speak of infinite modularity, allowing the forms to keep growing and growing in various ways to create unique patterns, like a snowflake.

I hope the viewer of the work appreciates the conceptual relevance of these works as well as their aesthetic formal qualities of repetition, rhythm symmetricality and balance which is then undermined by the ink leaking and spilling outside of the rigid pattern.
